Review: Whilst I have known about Clarins for years, I have only become a big Clarins fan in recent times and I honestly believe the brand is not given enough credit for their quality products. The new BB Skin Perfecting Cream is one of the nicest BB cream formulas I have tried to date - its lightweight formula glides on the skin with ease but promises a buildable coverage to suit all consistencies (mine usually ranges from medium to full). Combining the power of skincare and makeup in the one product means that there is no need to apply a moisturiser before application because by doing this you will find that skin is extra, extra dewy by lunchtime and BB Skin Perfecting Cream starts to wear off the skin. Described as suitable for all skin types, I tend to disagree because I have normal/combination skin and even when worn without a moisturiser underneath the formula still tends to go shiny on my nose and forehead by 3pm and a big powder touch-up is required to mask the shine. BB Skin Perfecting Cream contains '3D Redness' pigments which hide redness, blackheads, pores and even minimises the appearance of fine lines, making it a fantastic product for those with skin flaws (um, that applies to all of us)! The satin dewy finish is gorgeous and does not make skin look shiny or oily to start with - but as mentioned the end of the day is when the shine comes.
I love the fact that BB Skin Perfecting Cream contains SPF25 to help protect the skin when this clever cream is worn outdoors. Organic Kiwi energises the skin whilst Katafray binds moisture to the skin for hours. Available in three shades (light, medium and warm) BB Skin Perfecting Cream has a shade to suit most skin tones, although I have fair skin and the light shade is borderline light/medium if you ask me so the ultra fair skinned ladies will struggle to find a match. The squeeze tube is easy to use and is really lightweight and durable. I truly do love Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream but it lost a full star because of the above mentioned shiny skin issue and the choice of shades as there should be a fairer option again. Apart from that this BB cream is one of the best currently on the market and will be loved by women around the world for years to come.
Tip: even though moisturiser is not required before application, I would still recommend applying eye cream and concealing around the eyes instead of using this rich moisturiser around the eyes because it could irritate eyes.
