BYS Caviar for Nails ★★★
About: caviar nail art available in 10 varieties. Contains nail polish, caviar art and small brush.
Review: After eyeing off expensive caviar nail art kits for a year or two, I recently discovered the new and oh-so-affordable Caviar for Nails by budget Australian beauty brand, BYS. Available in 10 wonderful varieties, these caviar nail art kits are streamline, easy to store and easy to use, although a little messy. It all starts with a base coat of the nail polish in the kit which I found was a rather thick consistency and chipped easy so I ended up using an alternative nail polish brand as the base coat. Once the nail polish has been applied, all you need to do is 'dip' your wet nail in to the caviar baubles and 'roll' your nail in the tiny pot before carefully pulling it out and resting it while it dries and sets. As it dries, this is when the small black brush comes handy to flick away the excess caviar beads from around the cuticles. The brush would come in handy if it was effective but it is too soft, flimsy and probably a little too bushy to do its job effectively. Whilst the caviar nail beads are fantastic, the tiny plastic pot they come in really needs to be about double the size so that you can dip your finger in without the beads falling out and flicking everywhere - there is just not enough room in there for an adult sized nail. Once finished, the look is very cool - like delicious sugary hundreds and thousands sitting on the nail bed, but it feels really rough and if delicate fabrics are touched, BYS Caviar for Nails could catch and damage them so it is important to be aware of this. I would prefer to pay more for a caviar nail art with a larger jar to dip nails in and a more effective correction brush, but having said that, BYS Caviar for Nails is a good bargain buy and the overall visual effect looks really cool.
Tip: Avoid applying top coat over the caviar nail art because it distorts the nail art design and destroys the look.
