OPI Debuts at 2013 Archibald Prize Awards

Renowned Australian portrait artist, Jen D'Arcy has done it again! After submitting a fabulous life-like portrait of Dame Elizabeth in the 2012 Archibald Prize, she has turned her attention to the prestigious 2013 Archibald... and this year it is truly unique. Jen D'Arcy has completed a glamour portrait of Aussie comedian, Julia Morris, using nothing but OPI nail lacquers. How clever is that!

The portrait was created using 1,071 bottles of OPI (that's 16 litres of nail lacquer!), and use OPI favourites including Malaga Wine, San Tan Tonio, Pirouette My Whistle and Mod-ern Girl. So what did the woman in the portrait have to say? Julia told media, “I am a massive fan of Jen D’Arcy's. work, so when she approached me with her genius idea of using nail lacquer to paint my portrait, it really appealed to my sense of humour. In fact, as young people would say; it made me LOL!"

Finalists are announced March 14, 2013. After this stunning creation, it is safe to say that Jen is not only an artist, she could also become a makeup artist. Good luck Jen!
