Review: I’m a new convert to primers - I started using primers within the last 12 months and my
make-up has thanked me ever since. I found AB Makeup Antoinette Bekos Retexturising Primer to be a bit oily when I first opened the tube and put a dab of the product on the back of my hand, however once I started to use the product on my skin I found the primer was easily absorbed and gave a very slight sheen to my skin. The 28g tube is a decent size and you only need a small amount because a little tends to go a long way, so I would imagine this would last most people quite a while, about 2-3 months. I apply a droplet size to the whole of my face and find that amount is more than sufficient. I wouldn’t use much more than a pea size amount otherwise it will just be a waste and you will be overlayering on the skin so the effect will not be so good. In comparison to wearing my makeup sans primer, I found that my make-up lasts throughout the day and right through to the hours of the early evening. I am very impressed, to say the least! Silicone based, AB Makeup Antoinette Bekos Retexturising Primer glides over the skin's surface with easy and helps to soften the appearance of fine lines thanks to its flattering light-reflecting formula. There is a slight scent of sunscreen, which is to be expected with an added bonus of SPF 20 in the primer but this did not irritate me as the scent is not too strong and you just know you’re doing your skin a favour by protecting it from the sun. The active ingredients are listed as avobenzone (3%), Octinoxate (7.5%) and Octisalate (5%) for sunscreen purposes. AB Makeup Antoinette Bekos Retexturising Primer is definitely good value for money, with light reflecting particles to brighten skin, extended foundation wear and SPF 20, what’s not to love?
