About: A powdery matte long-lasting liquid foundation with medium to full coverage and SPF15. Packaged in a glass bottle with a pump applicator and spatula in the lid. Available in 6 colours.Review: Dr. LeWinn’s Skin Perfect Foundation has been developed to be both a foundation and anti-ageing solution that helps to improve the condition of the skin whilst acting as a foundation. It contains alpine rose stem cells which have been shown to renew and stimulate the skin, matrixyl synthe’6, which has been proven to help enhance skin collagen which is responsible for helping with the firmness and smoothness of the skin. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which assists in hydrating the skin, and tourmaline known for giving the skin added radiance and glow. Finally, it also contains SPF15 to protect the skin from further sun damage. Being 40 years old, and starting to see beginning lines, wrinkles and increasing pigmentation, I was very excited to trial Dr. LeWinn’s Skin Perfect Foundation. It seems to be the ultimate two-in-one product; a product that works on your wrinkles while covering covering imperfections. What’s not to love!
Having combination skin, increasing pigmentation as well as some scarring from past acne, I need a foundation that stays matte and doesn’t slide off my face half way through the day, as well as one that provides sufficient coverage to hide my pigmentation and scarring. And as soon as I applied the foundation, I was instantly impressed. Skin Perfect Foundation offers great coverage, and visibly smooths the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, leaving the skin looking radiantly glowing and super soft, smooth and hydrated. It doesn’t fall into the creases during the day, which is another positive. When I am wearing this, it visibly seems as if I’ve shaved several years off the age of my face. Skin Perfect Foundation also stays true to its colour, and does not change during the day, which is sadly often the case with some foundations. Skin Perfect Foundation is unbelievably silky. It has a soft powdery and matte finish, which is fantastic when you have skin a little on the greasy side, as many foundations will often leave the skin looking even greasier than it is. Skin Perfect Foundation certainly is very long-lasting. While I did need to powder powder my T-zone in the early afternoon, I did not need to reapply all over. When used in combination with a primer, it easily lasted all day, no touch-up required.
Skin Perfect Foundation is easily applied with fingers or a sponge, although you will get an even nicer finish when applied with a foundation brush. Skin Perfect Foundation has a lovely slightly floral scent, which is however very subtle, and which disappears almost immediately after application. While on one hand the glass bottle is no doubt used to make the product appear more luxe, it is the negative thing I have it as I don’t find the glass bottle very practical and I can imagine that it will be difficult to completely empty the bottle. On the positive, it gets a bonus point for the inbuilt spatula, which makes it more hygienic. All in all, it is a fantastic foundation that for me ticks all the boxes, and I really like the inclusion of hyaluronic acid and other nourishing ingredients, as by the end of the day when I remove makeup, my skin feels so soft and hydrated, almost as if I have just removed moisturising mask. If you too are concerned about ageing skin, and seek medium to full coverage foundation with powdery matte finish, that truly makes you look years younger, then I’d definitely recommend this to you.
Tip: Beware the glass bottle and handle with care!
