MBFWA: Bec & Bridge S/S 2012

Day Three: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia - Bec & Bridge S/S 12/13
Collection: Paradiso Bianco.

Bec & Bridge designers Becky Cooper and Bridget Yorsten sought inspiration from the gorgeous Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri after Bec holidayed there last year, explaining to media that Bec's "photos and descriptions of the place, rich in history, set our imaginations alight. The vivid colours, landscapes, architecture, wild bougainvillea and pure white light with a constant sea breeze have all inspired us in one way or another. We really just wanted to develop a collection that was super easy to wear. Effortless and elegant without being too casual. It's a slightly more sophisticated direction for us and one we think the Bec & Bridge girl will really identify with."

The range was completely different from Bec & Bridge’s usual style, it was more elegant and sophisticated. The collection was filled with floaty romantic dresses, double spilt thigh high dresses and floral material that was so pretty they were like smudges sorbet aqua and sorbet pink. Sexy cut away backs, perforated lace trim on dresses and pants, silk jumpsuit pants, dresses with sheer horizontal cut-out panels, a baby doll peplum top with a ruffled fringe wide leg pants. The stand out dress was the one with the cross over reverse braces dress in a geometric aqua and blue striping. While we love the dresses complimented by blues and other seaside references, we simply adore the matching shorts and blazer look for stylish day wear which can be worn in the evening also.
