Review: A safer alternative to baking the the sun and risking damage to your skin, Fake Bake Original Self-Tan Lotion is easy to use, dries in minutes and work fast to give skin that bronzed glow. The formula is already tinted so it makes application easy as you can see which areas have been missed, and although application can produce streaks, once blended in to skin the formula is completely streak-free. While the gloves are handy, they are not practical because gloves leave a straky finish and take so much longer to blend the product whereas the warmth of hands and fingers ensure the formula blends and melts in to the skin. The colour is beautiful: a gorgeous bronze-brown tone that looks super natural and does not feel 'icky' on skin. I love mixing it in with my favourite moisturiser to soften the tan because going from extra pale Ice Queen to Tahitian Goddess in moments can look a little fake and I want it to be gradual, but once I have built up the colour, I wear it alone and I receive compliments from friends who do not specficially mention the tan but rather say, "You look different - what is it?" which means the tan loooks so natural that they can't put their finger on it. The only thing I want to gripe about is the scent - although it smells like most fake tanners on the market, I still don't want to smell like I have gone to the trouble of fake tanning, besides it can make me feel like I need a wash and no one likes to feel dirty, hence the 1/2 star that the product lost when rated. However, it still scores high because Fake Bake is paraben free.
