Get The Look: Kardashian-Inspired Bridal Makeup

Gorgeous bride Katie / Makeup by Tammerly
Meet Katie, one of the gorgeous brides who have chosen Makeup by Tammerly to be apart of their special day. Katie and I met at a Burlesque Beauty Workshop hosted on the Central Coast, which are super duper much fun might I add. As I made Katie over, she told me that she was organising her wedding and asked me to do her makeup and of course I jumped at the opportunity!
Katie loves to wear makeup and had decided with her 3 beautiful bridesmaids that the Kardashian smoky look was the only look for them. After finding inspiration from watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians and scouring the Internet for looks, we decided to combine the following three looks from Kim, Khloe and Kourtney:

Kim has a light inner lid with lashes and mascara giving the smoky effect

Khloe heavily lines eyes top and bottom and even inner lash line with a black kohl eyeliner

Kourtney does not use a lot of dark shadow to get smoky eyes - just loads of false lashes and mascara
Although Katie wanted her eye makeup to look smoky and sexy, she did not want to overdo the look. The Kardashians wear this look when they attend events and it is certainly not an everyday look, so we toned down the look with a gorgeous charcoal grey that suited the skin tone of everyone in the bridal party and I just increased the intensity of the colour depending on their features and skin tone. We then added a set of lashes for extra 'Oomph' and it really helped to bring out their eyes... and voila!

How-To Achieve the Kardashian Bridal Look:
  1. Be sure to start by removing any traces of makeup including old eyeliner and mascara.
  2. Apply a good moisturiser so that skin holds your base longer.
  3. Prime - for flawless skin I love L'Oreal Studo Secrets Anti-Redness Primer because it takes away redness.
  4. Apply a stick foundation that offers a matte finish to accentuate the Kardashian look. Be sure to blend it down the neck/jawline also.
  5. Apply loose powder to the skin - but be careful not to over-do it because atte skin still needs a bit of natural glow. I highly recommend  Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder.
  6. Dust a warm toned bronzer over the forehead - blend it under the cheekbone, down the bridge of the nose as well as above and under the jawline.
  7. Add a rosy pink blush to apples of the cheeks and blend so you looklike a 'blushing bride'.
  8. Add a soft sweep of illuminator/highlighter to the skin for fresh and glowing skin.
  9. Prime eyes with an eyelid primer to help eye makeup stay, and prevent eyeshadow from creasing. Try Benefit Stay Don't Stray.
  10. Apply a matte grey over the entire lid and blend it above the crease of the eye so it is visible when looking straight ahead.
  11. Take a silver/grey loose shimmer eye dust and gently press over the inner corner of the eye, and take it 1/3 of the way out. Eye dust will make the eyeshadow intensity stronger and enhances the eyes. Be careful not to brush on the shimmer - it could cause excess fall out.
  12. Press your brush in to a charcoal grey powder eyeshadow and press it in to the out corner of the eye. With gently strokes, blend the charcoal grey shadow in to a v-shape: start by applying shadow at the outer corner of the eye and move it with the brush in toward the crease. Start at that outer corner and take it down toward the lash line. Move the darker colour over the eyelid approximately 1/3 of the way, or half way in for a smokier look.
  13. Apply a soft smoky black smudge pencil (or use a charcoal/grey liner for blondes) and take it about 3/4 of the way toward the inner corner. Using the same liner, apply it across the lower lashline but leave the inner corner clean.
  14. Take a thin angle liner and press a touch of silver eye dust along the inner corners of the eye - I love Napoleon Perdis Loose Eye Dust.
  15. Apply a touch of highlighter powder along the brow bone to help blend the eyeshadow and emphasise eyes. If you wish to be creative, you can add a touch of shimmer dust to the inner corner of the eyes and make them look larger.
  16. Apply false lashes to each eye - if you get stuck ask for an extra set of hands. Choose a set of lashes that look natural because it is to give emphasis - this is a bridal look.
  17. Ever so gently apply a coat of black mascara to lashes, this helps blend in the false lashes with your own.
  18. Fill in brows with a complementing matte eyeshadow to give the natural look a polished and tidy finish. Apply a clear brow gel over brows to set unruly ones and prevent them from going astray.
  19. Apply a soft pink lipstick and apply clear gloss over lips.
Isn't Katie's dress dreamy??
