A Beauty Collaboration With Burlesque: The Movie

Burlesque Movie Trailer

Makeup and polish and burlesque and Christina... These are a few of my favourite things! ♫

In case you did not notice, I am super excited and it is all thanks to the new Sony Pictures musical Burlesque starring celebrity superstars Cher and Christina Aguilera. How hot do they look on the trailer poster - the dark eyes on Cher, the false lashes on Christina's lower lash line and the stunning red lips that match the glitzy 'Burlesque' font - it is perfection.

Not only will the cast of Burlesque dazzle and delight its audience but world-famous makeup brand Smashbox Cosmetics and nail lacquer brand O.P.I have created their own Burlesque collections in collaboration with the film, plus Sebastian Professional announced that they were the offical hair sponsors on set. Read on for a sneak preview:

O.P.I's Holiday 2010 Burlesque Collection consists of twelve sparkly nail polishes inspired by burlesque, the glitz, the glam and the extravagance that comes with the art of burlesque. While I probably would not rush out to buy the collection I still love the idea of the collaboration and do have my eye on a few pieces. The collection is due to hit stores in time for Christmas 2010.

Being the official beauty brand used on set, Smashbox were inspired by the art of burlesque and created two collections -
Smashbox Limited Edition Burlesque Train Case contains Limitless Liquid Liner Pen in Jet Black,, Loose Shimmer in Burlesque (golden pink), Double-Ended Lip Gloss in Peep/Show (cotton candy/sparkling raspberry), Eye Shadow Quad in Entice (shimmering pink, deep eggplant, shimmering pink beige, cool grey), Hyperlash Mascara in Blackout (blackest black), Fusion Soft Lights in Tease (shimmering fuchsia), Cream Liner Palette in Vixen (jade, lilac, ocean blue, taupe, deep purple, navy, warm bronze, soft pink, gunmetal, golden pearl), and O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Colour.
Smashbox Limited Edition Burlesque Beauty Collection contains Liquid Liner Pen in Jet Black (jet black), Shadow & Liner Quad in Risque (shimmering pink, deep eggplant, shimmering pink beige, cool grey), Loose Shimmer in Burlesque (golden pink), and Double Ended Lip Gloss in Peep/Show (cotton candy/sparkling raspberry).
The Smashbox collection will be available from KIT Cosmetics from Monday 10th of January 2011.

Since this article was posted, I received word that yet another fantastic beauty brand has boarded the Burlesque train - Sebastian.
Sebastian Professional has long been a styling staple in millions of households and salons around the world, and now its iconic hairspray, Re-Shaper is taking centre stage as the official hairspray of Sony Pictures’ Burlesque. Prestige hair care brand Sebastian Professional were the official hair sponsor on set Burlesque.
Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper was the first ever brushable hairspray. This long-wear, strong-hold, humidity-resistant hairspray offers 24-hour control for hair that’s never stiff or sticky. Since its conception in Hollywood 25 years ago, Re-Shaper has been a make up must-have on movie sets, for red carpet events and behind the scenes at editorial shoots.

I am sooooo excited to see Burlesque because I am expecting beautiful makeup, vampy costumes and fantastic choreography. www.burlesque-movie.com.au/
